FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lancaster Festival Offers Free Family Fun and
Access to the Arts

[LANCASTER, Ohio] The Lancaster Festival is making the arts available and often times, free to kids and families in the community.  Throughout the Festival, families can enjoy an impressive lineup of free and low-cost activities designed especially for children, making the annual celebration one of Fairfield County's favorite summer traditions.

From hands-on art experiences and live performances to interactive entertainment and Festival Fair Day, there are opportunities every day for children to explore, create and enjoy the arts.

One of the Festival's most anticipated family events is Festival Fair Day, held Saturday, July 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. The event, which is free for children and just $5 for an adult, transforms the fairgrounds into a giant playground filled with activities, entertainment, demonstrations and exhibits from dozens of community organizations. Families can enjoy games, crafts, inflatables, live performances, educational exhibits, hands-on activities and much more while discovering the many resources available throughout Fairfield County.

Children can also enjoy free entertainment throughout Festival week during the popular Children's Corner performances, featuring interactive music, puppetry and family-friendly entertainment that encourages kids to sing, dance and participate.

Young artists will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity during Chalk the Block, where artists of all ages transform downtown sidewalks into colorful works of art leading up to ArtWalk.
The Festival's beloved ArtWalk also offers a fun evening for families as downtown Lancaster comes alive with visual art, live music and street performances. Visitors can stroll historic downtown, meet artists, enjoy entertainment on multiple stages and experience one of the community's signature summer events.

Families can also enjoy the Festival's popular free Noon Concerts, introducing audiences of all ages to outstanding musical performances in a relaxed daytime setting, while many additional Festival events throughout the week are designed to make the arts accessible for everyone.

"One of the things that makes the Lancaster Festival so special is that there truly is something for every member of the family," said Deb Connell, executive director of the Lancaster Festival. "Whether it's a child's first concert, creating sidewalk art, meeting local artists at ArtWalk or spending the day at Festival Fair Day, we're creating opportunities for families to experience the arts together and make memories that last a lifetime."

The Lancaster Festival runs July 17-25 and features concerts, visual arts, educational programs and community events throughout Fairfield County. Many family activities are offered free of charge thanks to the generous support of sponsors, donors and volunteers who help make the Festival accessible to everyone.
