Keller Market House Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary in Downtown Lancaster

(Lancaster, Ohio) The Keller Market House is an innovative, not for profit model that connects local farmers, food producers and artisans with their community. Opening its doors on May 26th, 2016, the market house has grown and evolved over the past ten years. It’s now a fixture of the downtown Lancaster community, offering local foods and artisan goods for sale 7 days a week, all year round.

The Keller Market House now works with more than 200 small Ohio producers to put “Real Food Within
Reach.” The non profit also operates the Lancaster Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. In 2025, they
strengthened the local economy with more than $1,000,000 in sales at the indoor and outdoor markets. As a non profit organization, they return as much of this retail dollar to their producers as they can, while also emphasizing food access, education and community building. They were awarded the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Non Profit of the Year’ Award for 2026.

Chamber Director and Keller Market House Board Member Travis Markwood states, “By providing a dedicated storefront for local producers, the Keller Market is lowering the barriers to entry for small businesses, ensuring that our local economy isn't just surviving, but thriving through community-driven commerce."

Board Chair Kim Sheldon has been a part of the progress since the beginning: “We are both proud and
amazed at how far the market has come in the last ten years - not sure we dreamed this big! We’re so grateful for the farmers, producers, donors, volunteers and especially the incredible staff who have been on this journey with us and have made the market’s success possible. Here’s to the next ten years!”

On Tuesday, May 26th, join the Keller Market House from 11:00am to 1:00pm to celebrate this anniversary. The public is invited for an open house with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon. Lunch will be available from a food truck on site, and guests can explore the market house, try free samples and meet local vendors.
