The Salvation Army Welcomes New Corps Commanding Officers
LANCASTER, OHIO – The Salvation Army-Serving Lancaster and Fairfield County is under new leadership, as Captains Alex and Kelsey Senak assume the responsibilities of Corps Commanding Officers. The Senaks bring prior leadership experience serving The Salvation Army in Allegheny Valley, Pennsylvania, and Camden, New Jersey, divisions.
Prior to this transition, Alex and Kelsey spent over two years in corporate sales and development, cultivating their skills in community engagement and strategy building. As they blend their business backgrounds with a passion for mission and ministry at The Salvation Army, they are positioned to resume their vocation serving Fairfield County.
Their family of six is planting roots in Lancaster and looks forward to exploring local offerings and community amenities - including parks and recreation, the YMCA and youth programs - while raising their kids and connecting with other families in similar seasons of life.
With the immersive nature of The Salvation Army, Captains Alex and Kelsey share a continued vision of furthering the capital campaign for a new Corps Community Center, amongst other timely initiatives.
“Our vision for guiding this project and expanding services in the years ahead centers on meeting the growing needs of our aging population by providing more space and greater opportunity for care and connection,” said The Salvation Army-Serving Lancaster and Fairfield County Captains Alex and Kelsey Senak. “We envision a multigenerational community where people of all ages can come together to worship, enjoy fellowship and experience life together.”
Captains Alex and Kelsey are well-intentioned about The Salvation Army’s swift and effective response to the community, as they maintain the ministry from the DeMichaels’ prior leadership and look to build upon existing services to continually meet the need of individuals across all life stages.
