Rotary Club of Lancaster Accepts Gift for Accessible Playground

[Lancaster, Ohio] –The Rotary Club of Lancaster received a donation of $5,000 from St. Paul Lutheran Church of Lancaster, through its Mission Endowment Plan (MEF) to assist in the funding of the Accessible Playground in Lancaster’s Miller Park.

The playground will occupy the current Miller Park along with the All-Abilities Ball Field and is estimated to cost slightly more than $1 million. Rotary has secured nearly $900,000 to date. “The mission of service of St. Paul Lutheran Church is aligned with the mission of Rotary,” said Tom Gasser, president of MEF Management Team. “We share a common goal and that is the bettering of our community. By providing a park accessible to everyone for generations to come, we are fulfilling that goal.”

The MEF was established by the church over 30 years ago. The mission of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Lancaster includes support of the Lancaster community - especially the youth of the community. The St. Paul Church is located at 125 North Eastwood Avenue. The Church has services at 9:15 on Sundays and 6:00 pm on Wednesdays and all are invited and welcomed to attend.

Donations for the park project are being sought and interested donors can contribute through the Fairfield County Foundation, www.fairfieldcountyfoundation.org. The name of the fund is Rotary Club of Lancaster Playground Fund.
