The idea to host an Advent Window Walk originated from local resident, Joseph Taylor. Taylor was inspired by a Germanic Christmas tradition that is practiced across Europe; he wanted to start this tradition in his own neighborhood for everyone to enjoy. Taylor’s wish is to bring the community together and showcase unique art during the season.
A map of all Advent window locations is available via the Advent Window Walk website. A QR code will also be displayed in front of each participating home that onlookers can scan to view the map from their smart devices. If you can’t make it to downtown Lancaster for a nighttime stroll in December, follow @AdventWindowWalk on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates on this annual, Lancaster holiday tradition—and use #AdventWindowWalk on social media to share your experience.
