Mike Lieber Named 2026 Rotarian of the Year
This award honors the legacy of the late Dick Benadum, who devoted more than 60 years to Rotary service. During his time, he maintained 55 years of perfect attendance at Rotary Club meetings, served as Club Secretary for 20 years, and was awarded the Rotarian of the Year in 2015. The award was named in his honor.
As a Past President, Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary Park Co-Chair, and member of the Membership Committee, Mike Lieber is a model of leadership, humility, positivity, and willingness to support any and every service project for the benefit of the community.
He is described as a mentor to other Rotary officers for setting an example of strong ethics. He goes above and beyond to serve and impact the community by dedicating time to local boards outside of the Rotary Club, which include the Fairfield County Foundation Board, the Family Y Campaign, the Fairfield Medical Center Board, and the Friends of the Parks Board.
Recently, he has worked tirelessly to fund The Rotary Park Project, helping to raise more than $900,000 for an All Abilities Playground, a project that began under Rotary President Jamie Culver in 2022. His work has brought the project closer to its fundraising goal and will help create a more inclusive environment for all.
