Hugh White Gives Rotary Club of Lancaster Gift for Accessible Playground
[Lancaster, Ohio] –The Rotary Club of Lancaster received a donation of $2,000 from Hugh White Chevrolet Nissan to help fund the proposed Rotary All-Accessible Playground in Lancaster’s Miller Park.
The playground will occupy the current Miller Park along with the All-Abilities Ball Field and is estimated to cost slightly more than $1 million. Rotary has secured more than 80 percent of those funds to date.
“The business leaders in our community like Hugh White Chevrolet Nissan are not only making a monetary contribution with their donations but are ensuring the future for our younger generation and those that will follow them by providing a safe and accessible place to play,” said Mike Lieber of the Rotary Park Committee.
“This service project speaks to the mission of Hugh White,” said Matt Pugh, general manager. “We are committed to meeting our customers’ needs and the needs of the community, even when those needs have nothing to do with an automobile. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute.”
Donations for the project are being sought and interested donors can contribute through the Fairfield County Foundation, www.fairfieldcountyfoundation.org. The name of the fund is Rotary Club of Lancaster Playground Fund.
The Rotary Club of Lancaster is part of Rotary International, the world’s first service club organization, with a mission to promote Service Above Self.
