Harcum House Begins Renovation of Former Hunter Trace Center
LANCASTER, Ohio – Harcum House is excited to announce that renovation work is now underway at the former Hunter Trace Center, a significant step forward in securing a forever home that serves children and families impacted by abuse in Fairfield County. The project begins as the Capital Campaign continues to gain momentum toward its fundraising goal, with community support helping to cover renovation costs.
“We’re grateful to be nearing our goal and are excited that, with a slight increase in our aspirations, we can ensure the space is everything we envisioned. We are seeking 10% more funds – another $100,000 - to make this dream a reality,” said Kate Smiley, Capital Campaign Chair.
Harcum House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential services to children and families affected by abuse and trauma, launched its Capital Campaign last fall. The organization is working to raise over one million dollars to fund the renovation, furnish the space, and support operational needs. Every contribution brings Harcum House closer to a permanent home that reflects the care and compassion behind its services.
