FREE Workforce Training Series Launches This Spring at the Fairfield County Workforce Center

A series of workforce training sessions designed to strengthen employee skill sets will take place at the Fairfield County Workforce Center this spring, free of charge, for all Fairfield County businesses or students.

Each course will last one and a half hours and will focus on building stronger workplace relationships, enhancing career development strategies, and creating more inclusive and supportive professional environments. Attendees will leave with practical tools to navigate workforce challenges and foster meaningful career growth.

“Every employer—no matter the industry, size, or workforce makeup—benefits when people feel understood, supported, and equipped to grow,” said Kristin Ankrom of Navigate Consulting who will be leading the series. “This training series gives organizations practical tools to strengthen communication, bridge generational gaps, and build clear pathways for career success. When employers invest in these skills, they don’t just improve workplace culture—they unlock the full potential of their teams and create environments where everyone can thrive."

Ankrom is a Licensed Social Worker, Certified Addiction Counselor, and a Certified Non-profit Consultant. She is a dynamic workplace training specialist with more than two decades of experience strengthening organizations through effective education and professional development. As the owner of Navigate Consulting, LLC, she delivers high-impact training for business and industry, including Drug-Free Workplace programs, Substance Abuse Professional-related instruction, compliance training, and customized workforce development sessions.

The first session will take place on Feb. 25 and is titled “Understanding and Managing Generational Differences.” In March, “Foundations of Communication and Crucial Conversations” will take place, followed by “Creating Future Stories” on April 29. Each session will take place from 8–9:30 a.m. at the Workforce Center, 4465 Coonpath Road NW, Carroll, OH. There is no fee, but registration is required and available by visiting tinyurl.com/wwpv4kjv or by emailing deshawn.toney@FairfieldCountyOhio.gov.
