FAIRFIELD COUNTY WORKFORCE CENTER TO HOST
PARENTS’ INFORMATION NIGHT
[CARROLL, OH] - The Fairfield County Workforce Center will host the annual Parents’ Information Night for Fairfield County high school juniors and their families to learn about the pre-apprenticeship programs offered at no cost to seniors in high school. The event will take place on April 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Workforce Center, 4465 Coonpath Road NW in Carroll, Ohio.
Established in 2020, the Workforce Center provides training programs for high-demand industries including manufacturing, skilled trades, and healthcare. The programs are offered through a collaborative partnership between the Fairfield County Commissioners, Ohio University Lancaster and the Russ College of Engineering, and Hocking College. The partnership focuses on economic development through training and workforce development.
Families and students attending will have the opportunity to hear from program instructors, connect with college administrators to explore degree opportunities, and talk with industry leaders to help potential students learn about career opportunities in these fields.
“This evening is designed to help families learn about the opportunities available to their incoming seniors and to give them the information they need to make informed decisions about their futures,” said Rick Szabrak, Director of Economic and Workforce Development for Fairfield County.
Students at the Workforce Center remain enrolled and will graduate from their home high school while receiving instruction in the areas of phlebotomy, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, industrial technology and wastewater management. In addition, certificates can be achieved through partnerships with Hocking College and Ohio University.
Reservations are not required to attend, and additional information may be obtained by emailing deshawn.toney@fairfieldcountyohio.gov. Or visiting the website at www.fairfieldcountyworkforce.com.
