Fairfield County Workforce Center Honored its Largest Graduating Class to Date
Carroll, OH: – On Friday, May 8, 2026, 101 Fairfield County high school seniors graduated at the Fairfield County Workforce Center’s 5th Annual Pre-Apprenticeship Graduation. This group of young men and women received certificates in the areas of HVAC, water/wastewater management, carpentry, electric, phlebotomy, industrial technology and plumbing.
Fairfield County Commissioner Steve Davis was a guest speaker and congratulated this year’s graduates.
“These graduates have demonstrated the determination, discipline, and work ethic that will serve them well in the skilled trades and beyond,” he said. “Programs like this are essential to building a strong local workforce, creating opportunities for our residents, and supporting the future growth of Fairfield County. We are proud of each graduate and grateful to the educators, employers, and community partners who continue to invest in the next generation of skilled professionals.”
Other speakers included Jarrod Tudor, Ph.D., J.D., LL.M., executive vice president of Hocking College; Martha Kline, Ph.D., interim dean of Campus and Community Relations at Ohio University and Paul E. Moentmann, president of Fairfield Insulation & Drywall.
Rick Szabrak, director of economic and workforce development for Fairfield County, said that in addition to graduation certificates, some students received something equally exciting.
“A large number of students already have jobs lined up in their respective fields,” he said. “Many others are actively moving through the interview process. That success reflects not only the hard work and determination of these students, but also the Workforce Center’s mission to connect individuals with meaningful career opportunities.”
This was the fifth pre-apprenticeship graduation from the Fairfield County Workforce Center.
The pre-apprenticeship and industry-recognized credential programs are offered at no cost for seniors in Fairfield County high schools. Students entering their senior year can enroll in programs in the fall. A student and parent information meeting will be held in August.
