Fairfield County Provides Clarification of Flood Relief Funding: Lancaster Festival Not Eligible for Funds
LANCASTER, Ohio – Recent reports of flood relief funding coming to Fairfield County have led to confusion about the needs of the Lancaster Festival, which is not eligible for State Disaster Relief Funding.Currently, The Lancaster Festival is continuing to assess the damage that will not be covered by insurance, with early estimates indicating that it will need approximately $1.5 million to support its recovery and operations. From infrastructure on the concert site to equipment that was both owned and rented by the Festival, damages were extensive and still being calculated. Fundraising efforts for the Festival will be ramping up over the coming weeks, with more details to follow.
“We want to be clear that the funds we received cannot be used to assist the Lancaster Festival. We know that the community will rally around our beloved non-profit entities and help them in this time of need, and our County Commissioners will do all that they can to support these efforts. However, this funding is restricted to specific uses, and unfortunately, the Lancaster Festival is not eligible,” said Jon Kochis, Director, Fairfield County Emergency and Facilities Management.
