Fairfield County Foundation Receives Special Donation to Double Matching Funds for 35-Hour Give

LANCASTER, Ohio –The Fairfield County Foundation will be holding the 35-Hour Give, their annual fundraising event inspired by #GivingTuesday, on Dec. 3 at 8 a.m. through Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. This year, following the 35-Hour Give, the Foundation will award $70,000 in matching gifts – the standard $35,000 match along with a bonus $35,000 donated by the Lloyd F. and Diann L. Helber Fund to honor the Foundation’s 35th Anniversary.

“We are grateful to Lloyd and Diann Helber for the $35,000 donation that will provide us the opportunity to offer $70,000 in matching funds in honor of our 35th Anniversary this year,” said Amy Eyman, CEO of the Fairfield County Foundation. “The Helbers have been ardent supporters of the Foundation over the years. They are committed to giving back to the community that has given so much to them, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to help them align their giving goals with unique community needs.”

Here’s how it works:

  • Any donor or non-profit wishing to receive matching funds during the 35-Hour Give must have a fund at the Fairfield County Foundation, as all donations and matching dollars will be added to the designated fund.
  • Donors and non-profit organizations should secure new donations from individuals — that must be made online at www.fairfieldcountyfoundation.org through the Donate Now link, using the QR code to the right, or in person at the Fairfield County Foundation offices—during the event’s specified date and time. In person donations should be made by 4 p.m. on Dec. 4. Donations sent through the mail will not count toward the match.
  • $70,000 in matching gifts will be awarded this year. All donations received during the 35-Hour Give will be eligible for matching funds on a pro-rata basis, which gives everyone who participates the opportunity to have their donations increased.
  • Matching gifts will be distributed based on the percentage each fund receives of the total contributions made during the 35-Hour Give. For example, a fund with donations that account for 5% of the total 35-Hour Give contributions would receive 5% of the $70,000 in matching funds, or $3,500. No single gift, by an individual, to a single organization, can receive more than 20% of the total match amount.
