Fairfield County Finance Professionals Go “Back to the Basics” at Professional Development Seminar
 
Pickerington, Ohio — Over the past four years, the Fairfield County Auditor has led professional development conferences and seminars for more than 1,000 local government employees, strengthening financial management skills and promoting efficient and effective operations. The latest seminar, “Making Numbers Count: Back to the Basics,” brought 75 finance professionals and supervisors together in Pickerington for a day focused on sharpening technical and leadership skills.
 
Hosted by the Fairfield County Auditor, Dr. Carri L. Brown, and team, the seminar emphasized the fundamentals of public financial operations while providing practical information that employees — particularly those new to local government or taking on new responsibilities — can put to work immediately.
 
The training is about more than numbers. Strong financial practices, effective leadership, and a knowledgeable workforce help local governments responsibly manage public resources and provide better service to residents.
