Fairfield County Commissioners Announce Service Rate Freeze on County Utilities

LANCASTER, OH — The Fairfield County Commissioners are pleased to announce a freeze on both water and sewer usage rates. The current water and sewer rates for Fairfield County Utilities will remain the same for customers through 2025.

“We are seeking to keep costs low for all of our customers; residential, commercial, and industrial, while significantly improving our level of service,” said Commissioner Jeff Fix. “The rate freeze will allow us to do just that.” The County Commissioners recognize the Utilities Department and Director Tony Vogel for their continuous hard work and efficient operations, allowing the county to maintain current rates even with rising energy costs.

The Fairfield County Utilities Department is responsible for managing and operating the County’s three drinking water plants and five wastewater plants providing over 1.9 million gallons of drinkable water and treating over 2.5 million gallons of used water every day. The staff of 22 professionals serve roughly 8,000 customers in the northwest portion of Fairfield County with water and sanitary services.
