County Auditor’s Offices Releases Fact Sheets for November 2025 General Election Levy Issues
Lancaster, Ohio – The Fairfield County Auditor’s Office has released fact sheets for the issues and property tax levies on the November 4, 2025, general election ballot.
Fairfield County residents in Madison Township, Ruschcreek Township, Violet Township, and Walnut Township Local School District will see proposed levy issues on their ballots. Madison and Violet Township residents will see road and bridge renewal levies while Rushcreek Township will see a Fire and EMS renewal levy. Walnut Township Local School District is proposing a renewal emergency levy.
Dr. Carri L. Brown, County Auditor, stated, "The fact sheets provide voters with an overview of the estimated cost per resident, the purpose of the levy funds, and the total amount projected to be collected if the measure is approved."
These fact sheets do not provide a position, such as voting “yes” or “no” on a levy; rather, the fact sheets inform voters on how a levy will impact them from a financial point of view.

Madison Township Road and Bridge Additional Levy
- Madison Township is placing a 1.5 mill additional levy on the ballot November 4, 2025. This additional levy is for the purpose of general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repairs of streets, roads and bridges. It is for a continuing period of time. Collections for the additional levy, if passed, will begin in 2026.
- For a property owner with a home valued at $100,000, the annual estimated tax for the additional levy is $53.
- If voters pass the proposed additional levy, an estimated $83,224 will be collected annually.
- Each of these estimates is based on current assessed valuations of real estate.

Rushcreek Township Fire & EMS Services Renewal Levy
- Rushcreek Township is placing a 1.85 renewal levy on the ballot November 4, 2025. This renewal levy is for the purpose of providing fire protection and emergency medical services. The renewal is for a period of 5 years. Collections for the renewal levy, if passed, will begin in 2026.
- A renewal levy is calculated using the original valuations from when the levy was first passed. A reduction factor (from the state of Ohio per House Bill 920) adjusts the effective millage, keeping the tax revenue at prior levels despite changes in property values.
- The original ballot issue in this case expired in 2024 and was last collected in 2025.
- If voters approve the proposed renewal levy of 1.85 mills, it is estimated to generate approximately $211,764, costing $53 annually for a property owner with a home valued at $100,000.
- The renewal levy is for the entire territory of Rushcreek Township.
- These estimates are based on current assessed valuations of real estate.

Violet Township Road and Bridge Renewal Levy
- Violet Township is placing a 1.5 mill renewal levy on the ballot November 4, 2025. This renewal levy is for the purpose of general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repairs of streets, roads and bridges. The renewal levy is for a period of 5 years. Collections for the renewal levy, if passed, will begin in 2027.

Walnut Township Local School District – Renewal Emergency Levy
- Walnut Township Local School District is placing a 1.4 mill renewal emergency levy on the ballot November 4, 2025. This renewal emergency levy is for the purpose of providing for the emergency requirements of the school district and is for a period of 10 years. Collections for the renewal levy, if passed, will begin in 2027.
- Walnut Township Local School District has a current emergency levy, passed at 1.4 mills. It is currently collected at 1.0 mills. Reduction factors were applied to the millage. In other words, a difference exists between this levy’s rate as authorized by the voters and the actual mills charged. This “effective millage rate” reflects how original voted mills are decreased to account for increasing prices in the real estate market.
- This renewal levy is also eligible for state rollbacks such as the 2.5% owner occupancy and 10% non-business credits.
- The last collections for the current levy will occur in 2026.
