Amanda-Clearcreek Student Wins County-Wide America 250 Writing Contest, Recognized During Lancaster Festival

 
   
AMANDA, Ohio (July 23, 2026) – Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools (A-C) seventh-grader Olivia Warren was named the winner of the America 250 writing contest on July 22 during the Lancaster Festival’s America 250 celebration, held at Zane Square.
 
The featured contest, “America is…” invited Fairfield County students in grades 4-12 to participate in the writing prompt using a brief essay, poem, or creative literature to elaborate on the U.S. in recognition of the nation’s 250^th birthday.
 
Complete with a cash prize, local billboard feature, restaurant gift voucher, and published submission of Olivia’s poem in the Fairfield County Heritage Quarterly Magazine, the contest was a unique opportunity coordinated by Keller Williams Greater Columbus Realty in Lancaster.

“We’re proud to celebrate alongside Olivia and commend her for the creativity displayed in her submission,” said Dr. Timothy Edwards, superintendent of Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools. “This contest was a valuable opportunity to actively participate in our nation’s milestone and recognize the work of young learners in the process.”
 
The Lancaster Festival’s America 250 celebration also featured a performance by the Lancaster High School ensemble, U.S-themed giveaways, and a community picnic.
