Afterschool Programs of Lancaster Names Dr. Sally Lozada Executive Director
LANCASTER, Ohio – Afterschool Programs of Lancaster has named Dr. Sally Lozada its new Executive Director, effective June 2026, as the organization continues to grow its role as an educational extension of Lancaster City Schools (LCS), a partner in student achievement.Afterschool Programs of Lancaster operates on-site at each of the LCS’s five elementary campuses, working directly with the district to align its curriculum with what students are already learning during the school day. Certified staff lead assessment preparation designed to strengthen math and reading scores, a clinical counselor is on-site once a week to support students’ social-emotional needs, and enrichment is built around student choice. It’s a model built to reinforce the classroom, and it is offered to families at no cost through the federal 21st Century Community Learning Center grant program.
Lozada steps into the role with more than three decades of experience in education leadership, holding a Ph.D. in Leadership in Higher Education from Capella University and most recently serving as Principal of Fisher Catholic High School in Lancaster. Her background spans both secondary and higher education, giving her firsthand insight into the long-term path Afterschool Programs of Lancaster’s elementary students are just beginning, and the foundation they will need to succeed on it.
“I am honored to join Afterschool Programs of Lancaster at such a pivotal time,” said Lozada. “This organization does far more than provide a safe place for students before and after the bell rings; it is a true extension of the classroom, and I look forward to building on that foundation alongside our staff, schools and families.”

Since 1998, Afterschool Programs of Lancaster has provided quality, educationally sound Out-of-School Time programming for kindergarten through fifth grade students across all five Lancaster City Schools elementary buildings, funded through the federal 21st Century Community Learning Center grant program.
