Economic and Workforce Development is looking for an apprenticeship coordinator to raise awareness, profile, and value of pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships as a quality career pathway for youth and adult job seekers. 

Duties

  • Coordinate and support outreach events i.e. career fairs, job matching events, and school events to achieve outreach and recruitment/enrollment goals. 
  • Deliver informational sessions to a variety of participant audiences and age groups to increase awareness and understanding of pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs.  
  • Supports relationships and communication with apprenticeship sponsors, pre-apprenticeship programs, educational and training organizations, signatory/subscribing employers, community organizations, and state & local agencies to build knowledge and promote pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship activities. 
  • Create, update, and distribute outreach resources and materials to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Serve as a central point of contact for stakeholder questions regarding program management systems. Coordinate with employers, sponsors, schools, and other stakeholders for on-site visits with participants. 
  • Align student and/or job seeker occupational goals with pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship opportunities. Work to use services within the workforce system to remove participant's barriers to success. Assist participants with completing required paperwork for enrollment process, registration, and program onboarding. Track and monitor participant progress to ensure timely program completion.  Coordinate apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programming with training providers and their students and completing reports for these programs.    
  • Communicate with Workforce Board staff, OhioMeansJobs centers, and counterparts in Franklin County. Attend planning meetings, Board meetings, and collaborate with the Franklin County Apprenticeship Coordinator and Apprenticeship Director. Complete any necessary grant reporting.
Qualifications
  • Experience in career development, workforce planning, and/or workforce development is preferred. 
  • Knowledge and experience in coordinating training and development. 
  • Detail-oriented and organized. 
  • Able to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and effectively manage time.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in business, communications, or related field of study preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Travels throughout Area 20's 5 county region (Fairfield, Pickaway, Ross, Hocking, and Vinton counties) is required.
  • Driver's license required
