Finishing Press Operator

The Finishing Press Operator is responsible for converting printed material into finished pressure sensitive labels and other packaging products. The initial printed material is die-cut and may require additional processes such as laminating, varnishing, slitting, foil, and embossing. When the Finishing Press Operator is done with a job, the label or packaging product is now ready to be packed and shipped to the customer.

This position is non-exempt and operates on a rotating swing shift (between 1st and 2nd shift.)

Core Responsibilities and Duties

  • Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, you will produce finished labels at specified output speeds.
  • Throughout the label finishing process, you are responsible for ensuring the finished product meets our high-quality standards and any issues are addressed accordingly.
  • Following our Standard Operating Procedures, you will ensure that jobs are produced accurately and efficiently.
  • You will perform basic press maintenance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • With assistance from your team leadership, you will at times perform basic repairs to your machine as needed.
  • Working with your team leadership you will tackle other duties as assigned or needed.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous printing experience a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
  • Press operators should be willing and able to routinely lift to 60lbs, including overhead when loading or transporting material on and off the machines.
  • Press operators should be willing and able to stand for 8+ hours during their scheduled shifts.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, turning, stooping, reaching and other maneuvers including walking are required in this role.
Finishing Press Operator Schedule Information
  • Full-time, non-exempt (Hourly)
  • Monday – Friday
  • Rotating swing shift, every 2 weeks between 1st and 2nd shifts.
1st shift hours are 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM 2nd shift hours are 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Overtime as business needs warrant, which may include Saturdays
