INSTRUCTOR ASSISTANT
The Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking an Instructor Assistant to provide services in an educational setting at Forest Rose School on the school calendar. Must meet ODE requirements.This is specialized work assisting an instructor in the training of individuals who have developmental disabilities. An employee in this classification will receive direction from an instructor. Instructor Assistants may be assigned to assist more than one Instructor.
As an employee of the Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the job incumbent shall comply with all Board policies at all times, and shall demonstrate respect for, support the dignity of, and observe the rights of all individuals served by the agency.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. The hourly rate range starts at $18.14 and is based upon experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent with additional training as appropriate.
- Educational Aide certification from Ohio Department of Education.
- Must be physically capable to lift up to 50 lbs. per lifting policy, carry or move students in a safe manner, according to in-service training.
- Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Remains current in behavior training courses and is able to implement any techniques taught.
- Ability to accurately, efficiently and effectively use technology to assist students with communication, complete required training and certification processes.
- Current, valid Ohio Driver's License, points on driving record may not be equal to or exceed 6 and must be acceptable to agency insurance carrier. Maintains personal vehicle insurance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain ODE Van Driver certification.
- Must be able to tolerate up to one hour in a therapy pool with temperatures of 92o – 94oF (doctor’s release required).
