The Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities (FCBDD) is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Fiscal Specialist to support agency payroll and financial operations. This full-time, permanent, hourly (non-exempt) position works under the direction of the Chief Fiscal Officer and plays a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards, while supporting the agency’s mission of dignity, respect, and service to individuals with developmental disabilities.Primary responsibilities include processing bi-weekly payroll; maintaining sick, personal, and vacation leave records; managing accruals, incentives, and separation payouts; preparing invoices and monthly financial analyses; assisting with purchasing and vendor payments; serving as backup for Accounts Payable; and collaborating with internal staff, the County Auditor’s Office, and other external partners. The Fiscal Specialist must maintain strict confidentiality, adhere to all fiscal policies and procedures, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s Degree or higher in accounting or a business-related field, strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and computerized accounting or payroll systems, and excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. A valid Ohio driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required, along with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work variable hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed. The starting hourly rate for this position is $21.22 and adjustments are based upon experience and qualifications. This position includes full county benefits.
