Overview:

The Maintenance Department Manager oversees the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of the organization’s facilities, equipment, and machinery through planning, coordinating and directing all maintenance activities to ensure machine reliability and minimize unexpected downtime.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the maintenance team to carry out tasks cleaning, lubricating, inspections, servicing, providing repairs, and replacing spare parts.
• Plan, determine optimal utilization of maintenance workers and equipment to meet maintenance goals.
• Coordinates shift changeovers with Maintenance staff.
• Partners with the Management team to maintain a robust Preventative Maintenance program and tailor it to current production and machinery conditions.
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by ensuring completion of preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies. Has experience working with chains and sprockets. Communicates such needs to Plant Manager.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains technical knowledge by reviewing technical publications.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Ensures that staff observes all safety requirements of the job including, but not limited to, Lockout Tagout and Machine Guarding, proper use of PPE, etc. Maintains an awareness of OSHA guidelines.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results.
• Encourages creative ideas to improve the department's role within the scope of the company

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Ability to read, write and speak English competently.
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting as a maintenance Department Manager.
• Equipment Maintenance

• Power Tools

Pay is based on experience

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
