Summer Pool Staff
The Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department is seeking qualified individuals to join their summer pool teams in 2025.
Applications are being accepted for cashier and lifeguard positions through Monday, May 19 at 4 p.m. Pay rates start at $10.70/hour for cashiers and $13.00/hour for lifeguards. Use the links below for full job descriptions and online applications.
CASHIER RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES (APPLY HERE)
- Maintains financial and attendance records.
- Operates Cash Register.
- Communicates information to the public about schedules and activities.
- Supports facility rules in order to prevent accidents and safety hazards.
- Aids pool staff during emergencies.
- Maintains a positive attitude with the public at all times.
- Helps with completing required paperwork related to rescues, assists, first aid, maintenance and disciplinary actions, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintains cleanliness of pool facility, restrooms, pool deck, trash and concession area.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Attends mandatory trainings.
LIFEGUARD RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES (APPLY HERE)
- Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
- Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with Lancaster Parks & Recreation policies, procedures; completes related reports as required.
- Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.
- Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.
- Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving
- Attends all staff meetings and in-service training.
- Maintains clean pool facility including restrooms and trash.
- Helps to landscape/mow grass area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
