About Fairfield Christian Academy

Fairfield Christian Academy is a ministry of Fairfield Christian Church and falls under the leadership of the Lead Pastor of Fairfield Christian Church, as well as the board of directors which is the Elder Board of Fairfield Christian Church

The Superintendent of Fairfield Christian Academy will be the one to inspire, lead, and direct all phases of Fairfield Christian Academy, under the authority of Fairfield Christian Church. The single focus of this position is to be the chief officer of the school. In fulfilling the role as chief officer, the Superintendent oversees the creation and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that will implement the mission and vision of Fairfield Christian Academy within the guidelines of all federal, state, and local requirements for education. Under the Superintendent’s leadership, the school will be a Christian educational institution that pursues excellence while building character.

Evaluation: Supervised by the Lead Pastor, and monitored by the Elder Board of Fairfield Christian Church
Type of Position: Exempt/salaried
Supervises: Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Assistant, Athletic Director, Custodial Manager, Cafeteria Lead

Spiritual Qualities
The Superintendent of Fairfield Christian Academy is an employee of Fairfield Christian Church and as such is considered a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, with the following qualities:
1. Strong, evident personal relationship with Jesus Christ and clear Christian testimony
2. Spiritual maturity, Godly role model, prayerful, positive attitude, joyful
3. Sensitivity and responsiveness to needs of others
4. Desire to support and encourage co-workers
5. Ability to listen and respond to wise counsel
6. Accept and practice the beliefs given in the Fairfield Christian Academy Statement of Faith
7. Broad acceptance of and by the evangelical Christian community
8. Strong knowledge and understanding of Scripture
9. Active membership in a Bible-believing church consistent with the doctrinal beliefs of Fairfield Christian Church. The church should have the same core beliefs as expressed in Fairfield Christian Academy’s Statement of Faith
10. Internal and External community wide Spiritual Leader
The expectation for the Superintendent of Fairfield Christian Academy is to attend Fairfield Christian Church unless he/she is actively engaged as a member of a Bible-believing church consistent with the doctrinal beliefs of Fairfield Christian Church.

2. Broad experience as a Christian school administrator

7. Commitment to hiring qualified, both spiritually and educationally, candidates at all levels in the workplace
8. Team player responsive to the school board and the school staff
9. Willing to subordinate his or her personal agenda to the school’s mission and vision
10. Open to new concepts and technology
11. Hold appropriate degrees, including ACSI Certification

JOB DESCRIPTION

Spiritual Leadership
1. Adheres to FCA’s Statement of Faith, Core Values, Philosophy, and Mission
2. Maintains a strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, exemplifying a mature Christian character and lifestyle
3. Serves as the primary spiritual leader and preserves the spiritual integrity of the school. Provides spiritual leadership for the faculty, staff, and students.
4. Monitors and addresses all matters of school climate and culture
5. Exercises all responsibilities necessary to develop and implement a strategic plan for FCA that aligns with the mission and advances the standing of the organization in the community as a high-caliber Christian educational institution
6. Is sensitive and responsive to spiritual concerns of students, staff, school families, and the church
7. Is respected as a Spiritual Leader in the community

Vision Casting, Administrative Team Leadership and Strategic Planning
1. Establishes and leads the administrative leadership team in day-to-day operations and long-term planning, particularly as it relates to the overall mission, strategic plan, sustainability and financial condition of the school
2. Seeks the Lord for His vision for FCA in conjunction with church leadership
3. Invites, Involves, and includes others in hearing and following God's vision for FCA
4. Builds and leads a strong administrative team that executes the vision
5. Develops the strategic plan with the administrative team and FCA School Advisory Board
6. Enables, encourages and trusts the administrative and leadership team to assemble and execute the strategic plan
7. Works alongside FCA School Advisory Board to review, develop and implement policies for FCA

Sustainability and Funding
1. Serves as the primary “face” of Fairfield Christian Academy to the internal and external community
2. Shares the vision and story of Fairfield Christian Academy with community leaders, pastors and donors
3. Develops scenarios and plans for short and long-term sustainability
4. Cultivates relationships with current donors
5. Nurtures relationships with community leaders who may have an interest in FCA
6. Serves as the primary fundraiser for the school
7. Works with the Chief Financial Officer to oversee all aspects of the fiscal operations of the school

Community Relations
1. Represents FCA to all of its constituents including neighbors, parents, students, alumni, business community, church, faculty and staff
2. Represents FCA and advocates for Christian schooling at the national, state, and local levels
3. Develops good relationships within the church and the Christian community
4. Articulates well the need for and validity of Christian education

Board Facing
1. Reports regularly to the Lead Pastor, communicating the ongoing progress and challenges in all significant aspects of the school’s operation
2. Oversees the preparation and presentation of all O.D.E. Policy Compliance reporting to aid the Elders in primary oversight responsibilities
3. Works alongside the FCA School Advisory Board to update, and implement school policy
4. Cultivates and stewards strong and cooperative working relationships with the Lead Pastor and FCC Elder Board
5. Keeps the FCA School Advisory Board and the FCC Elder Board informed on local, state, and national issues that may impact FCA
6. Maintains and leads the school in accordance with by-laws established for FCA
