Shumaker Building Restoration Ceremony
You're invited to celebrate the beginning of this transformational preservation journey! Join us for the Restoration Kick-off of the Shumaker Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 11:30 a.m. in Downtown Lancaster.
Urban Restorations, a real estate development company that specializes in historic renovation and owns the former Essex Wire Building at 219 N. Columbus St., has begun renovations to transform the previously-vacant property.
This inaugurates the re-purposing of the approximate 138,000-square-foot building which will feature apartments on the second and third floors and retail space on the first floor. In the heart of the downtown district, The Shumaker will extend the walkable downtown and provide valuable commercial and residential space while enhancing our sense of place.
Guest Speakers:
David Scheffler, Lancaster Mayor
Bob Schilling, Urban Restorations
Amanda Everitt, Destination Downtown Lancaster
Parking will be available across the street from the building on Mulberry Street.
