Putting your best foot forward in business can be confusing. There are so many variables when it comes to sharing your story or message with potential clients. Martin Barker, graphic designer, has been in the business for over 25 years and will guide you through some of the pitfalls and challenges of crafting and designing your message. In this seminar, Martin will cover how simple design principles in PowerPoint, print advertisements, even stationery can all help to accurately and clearly convey your message. After all, good design is good business. 

Small Business University will take place Thursday, October 8 at the Fairfield County Workforce Center, 4465 Coonpath Road in Carroll. Sign-in and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m., with the presentation starting at Noon.

Speaker Bio:

Martin Barker - Martin Barker Design

Martin Barker of Martin Barker Design, is a local graphic designer and has been in the business for 30 years. He and his wife and partner, Juli, bring graphic design, photography, websites, video and multi-media to this community. They both offer a strong design aesthetic in what they do with degrees in art as well as a vast experience of working in the industry. Some clients include the Lancaster Festival, the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio and Fairfield Federal. Some examples of projects include the branding for Fairfield County, Ohio, the Link transit buses, and Provisions Bakery and Deli.
 
While Martin and his family have lived in Fairfield County and central Ohio for nearly 30 years, Martin grew up in Tokyo, Japan. He considers that experience a rich source of the esthetic he seeks to provide in the business of graphic design.
