Join the Young Professionals of Fairfield County for a special presentation by National Alliance on Mental Illness Fairfield County Education Leader, Mark Conrad, on NAMI Overview and the Frustrations, Issues, and Challenges of Mental Health Care.
Mark will cover what NAMI does, including the resources offered by NAMI Fairfield County. It will also address the challenges of obtaining mental health care, providing historical context, local resources, and practical suggestions for working with affected families. Registration is free with light breakfast available!
Mark Conrad became involved with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in 2013, when a family member had their first psychotic episode. He has since trained under NAMI to become a Family Support Group Facilitator and Education Leader which allows him, along with his colleague Myles Kiphen, to run NAMI Fairfield County, including the monthly Family Support Group and the once a year Family-To-Family education course. He works with many other county organizations that are helping those with issues resulting from mental health challenges, substance abuse challenges, and various disabilities. He is originally from Lancaster and worked for Fairfield County in various IT roles beginning in 2000 until he retired in 2021.
