2024 Small Business University - Marijuana Legalization
Join us for our first Small Business University of 2024 with guest speaker, Rebecca Jacobs - director and general counsel at MRA in Columbus.
With the recent legalization of recreational marijuana and the shifting legislative landscape, many companies are wondering what impact this will have on their workforces. Rebecca Jacobs will discuss the impact of the new laws on drug-free workplace policies, supervisor training recommendations, drug testing procedures and more. This presentation will help employers stay clear of the weeds of confusion.
Small Business University will take place Thursday, Feb. 29 at the Fairfield County Workforce Center with lunch and networking starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by the presentation at Noon. Lunch is included with registration.

Rebecca Jacobs, MRA Director & General Counsel, takes on challenges of all kinds with persistence and the willingness to work hard. She also has the guts to try new and hard things, which recently lead her to earning her black belt in Tae kwon do. Referring to herself as the “Black Belt Lawyer,” Rebecca’s expertise is in the legal field, both in the courtroom as a defense litigator and classroom as an adjunct lecturer.
