With yours and our help\, United Way can improve the lives of our neighbors in Fairfield\, Licking and Perry counties. For most of its history\, United Way has worked by mobilizing the financial resources of businesses\, individuals and foundations in support of direct service programs   the foundation of their work\, now and into the future. We hope you'll join us in supporting this outstanding cause and event. Advance registration begins NOW. Gather your friends...mark your calendar\, pick your jumping friends\, register through MobileCause\, plan your costumes(PRIZES!!)\, book your ride share\, charge your cameras\, challenge your co-workers and fellow businesses...LET'S DO THIS! On behalf of Buckeye Lake Winery and the United Way we are honored to announce that\, following a vigorous selection process\, we have selected Ruth Sunkle to be the first ever Grand Marshal of our annual Polar Plunge. Ruth exemplifies a commitment to community. After graduating from Newark in 1971 she attended THE Ohio State University and graduated in 1975. She maintains her membership to the Ohio State Varsity "O" as she played basketball and softball for the great Scarlet and Gray. Following her college career she returned to her hometown of Newark to teach physical education and health for the next 35 years. She was also the Dean of Students and coached girls volleyball and basketball. Ruth retired on the lake and wholly embraces her community and neighbors. Her hobbies include trail riding with friends on her horse Daisy\, boating\, cards with friends and living life to the fullest. She lives by the mantra "Live for today\, tomorrow is never promised". Please join us in raising a glass to Ruth on Sunday\, January 26\, 2020 for her outstanding community commitment of plunging SEVEN times with us!
